چکیده
Background/Aims: Transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) is useful for management of uncontrolled upper gastrointestinal (UGI) bleeding. We investigated clinical outcomes TAE non-variceal bleeding from benign UGI diseases with endoscopic intervention. Methods: This retrospective study performed between 2017 and 2021 across four South Korean hospitals. Ninety-two patients (72 men, 20 women) who underwent angiography were included after the failure intervention disease- induced acute factors associated hemostasis failure, technical success rate TAE, post-TAE 30-day rebleeding mortality rates. Results: The stomach (52/92, 56.5%) duodenum (40/92, 43.5%) most common sites Failure procedures was attributable to peptic ulcer disease (81/92, 88.0%), followed by pseudo-aneurysm (5/92, 5.4%), angiodysplasia (2/92, 2.2%). Massive that interfered optimal visualization field indication both in (22/52, 42.3%) (14/40, 35.0%). Targeted empirical exclusive arteriography 77 (83.7%), nine (9.8%), six (6.5%), respectively. rate, overall 100%, 22.1%, 5.8%, On multivariate analysis, coagulopathy (OR, 5.66; 95% CI, 1.71~18.74; P=0.005) 5.71; 1.14~28.65; P=0.034) independent risk episodes. Conclusions: may be correction can improve outcomes.

Acute endoscopic intervention in non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
Upper gastrointestinal bleeding is one of the commonest emergencies encountered by general physicians. Once haemodynamic stability has been achieved, therapeutic endoscopy is vital in control and arrest of bleeding. Various methods are available and the evidence is reviewed as to the most optimal approach. Clinical parameters including timing of endoscopy, risk stratification, and predictors of...
متن کاملTranscatheter arterial embolization for upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding
Introduction Transcatheter arterial embolization is a possible treatment for patients with recurrent bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal tract after failed endoscopic management and is also an alternative to surgical treatment. Aim To analyze the outcomes of transcatheter arterial embolization and identify the clinical and technical factors that influenced the rates of morbidity and mort...
متن کاملMultidisciplinary management strategies for acute non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
BACKGROUND The modern management of acute non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding is centred on endoscopy, with recourse to interventional radiology and surgery in refractory cases. The appropriate use of intervention to optimize outcomes is reviewed. METHODS A literature search was undertaken of PubMed and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials between January 1990 and April...
متن کاملManagement of Non-Variceal Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding
Nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding is unique from variceal bleeding in terms of patient characteristics, management, rebleeding rates, and prognosis, and should be managed differently. The majority of nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeds will not rebleed once treated successfully. The incidence is 80 to 90% of all upper gastrointestinal bleeds and the mortality is between 5 to 10%...
